The reality of custom challenge coin delivery timeframes isnât determined by an advertisement. Itâs determined by the features or lack there of on your coin design.
I want to clear up some often advertised misconceptions. Often may be too light a word; this tactic used all the time. Companies are always giving ridiculous delivery timeframes in an attempt to get your order. Why wouldnât they use it if itâs worked in the past?
This tactic is a lie, fairytale, fib, bending the truth or absolute folly; take your pick. These companies are implying that the advertised delivery timeframe applies to your order. I am here to wake you up. You have about a ten percent chance of that delivery timeframe applying to your order.
Hereâs why. Every feature added to a custom coin order adds to production time, including paint color. The over used seven to ten day delivery timeframe applies to challenge coin orders with no enamel paint color and no additional features. Weâre talking about the most basic coin here. In addition to that, these custom coin companies ship directly to the customer from their Chinese factories. They donât even perform a quality check on their product because they never see it.
Donât even get me started on the reason they offer a satisfaction guarantee. They will replace coins they never even looked at. What a joke! Maybe Iâm being too harsh, in all fairness a satisfaction guarantee is offered by most custom coin vendors. It might not be stated on their website but most reputable coin suppliers stand behind their work, even if theyâve never seen it.
Another thing that bothers me is the jokers who advertise highest quality at the lowest price. Come on man, thatâs such a contradiction itâs not even funny. Letâs say the do have the best quality. How can I possibly know that? You canât know! You would have to produce challenge coins with every vendor on the internet in order to compare quality. This is just another over the top advertising gimmick that neither one of us has the money or time to substantiate. Quality is in the eye of the beholder and you canât quantify how important customer service excellence is, unless youâve experience bad custom service.
I will leave you with some food for thought. High quality and low prices equal happy customers. They also equal price increases or businesses going under. There is overhead or expenses in all businesses. If your custom coin vendor isnât making enough money because theyâre attempting to beat everyone elseâs price, then you may wind up SOL (Shit out of Luck) when youâre ready to reorder your coins.
